Special Warriors continued their winning streak in the ongoing Friends Cup with an emphatic 8-wicket victory over Knight Scorchers in the 6th match.
Knight Scorchers’ captain, Deepanshu Mishra, won the toss and chose to bat first, but the decision backfired as they were bowled out for just 65 runs in 12.2 overs. Anshu Raj Bhalla struck early by dismissing Vipin in the first over. Shailendra Rajpoot was the standout bowler, taking five wickets and dismantling a batting lineup that had scored over 200 runs in their last game. Only Somil Mishra (12) and Brijesh Singh (15) reached double figures.
In their chase, Special Warriors had a steady start. They lost their first wicket in the 10th over when Deepak Kumar Singh (10) was caught by Sudeept off Rahul’s delivery. Captain Siddharth Pandey then led the way with a 40-ball half-century, earning him the Super Striker of the Match. Special Warriors comfortably chased down the target in the 12th over.
Shailendra Rajpoot was named Player of the Match for his five-wicket haul, and Deepak Kumar Singh received the Catch of the Match award.
