SS Cricket Academy secured a 29-run victory over Roaring Lions in the first match of the series, showcasing a brilliant all-round performance.
Roaring Lions’ captain, Bhanu, opted to bowl first after winning the toss. SS Cricket Academy’s openers, Faizan and Ghazi, provided a solid start, adding 79 runs for the first wicket before Faizan was given out LBW off Rajendra’s delivery. Contributions from Navratan (22), Arjun (28), and a blistering 27 off 12 balls from Ayush helped SS Cricket Academy post a formidable total of 203 runs in their 20 overs. Bilal was the standout bowler for Roaring Lions, taking three wickets.
In response, Roaring Lions had a slow start and lost their first wicket at 31 runs when GV Singh was stumped by captain Ghazi. Bilal Ahmad was the lone fighter for Roaring Lions, scoring a brilliant century off 67 balls, but received little support as wickets fell regularly at the other end.
Despite Bilal’s efforts, Roaring Lions fell short, and SS Cricket Academy clinched the match by 29 runs. Bilal Ahmad was named Player of the Match for his outstanding all-round performance. Rohit from Roaring Lions was awarded Catch of the Match for his impressive running catch, and Ayush from SS Cricket Academy was named Super Striker for his explosive 27-run innings off just 12 balls.
